Is it possible that there is a new reading of Sima Pandurović?

In this paper, we analyse the poetry of Sima Pandurović. We check whether there is a possibility to read this Serbian classic in new hermeneutic key, although more than a century has passed since the first editions of his poetry. On this occasion we also analyse the opinions of the most relevant literary critics and literary historians. This paper, in this respect, also represents the new reading of these authors, with the aim to see whether in their rather rigid views there was a hint for a new reading of this poet in the future. Although the literary criticism of some critics was one-dimensional in relation to the views on the meaning and poetics of Sima Pandurovic, we can see that this will change significantly at the end of this and the beginning of the new century. There will even be scientific studies that will rather rigid views of new sensed meanings, not only in the poetry of Pandurović but also of all modernists (Towards the Poetics of Serbian Moderna, 2017). This paper aims to show another new dimension of the meaning of Pandurovic's poetry, concerning religion and religious subtext.
