This article presents a fault diagnostics technique for a 3-phase induction machine. The proposed technique was developed with fuzzy logic applied to a simplified induction motor model affected by the stator winding short turns. Based on the 3-phase time-domain model, the machine winding with different fault conditions has been simulated to check the resulting speed, torque, and stator current spectrum in each case.
