The author analyzes international practice on the libraries’ way to establishing main principles of personal data privacy and security: minimal data transfer and informed patron’s agreement on personal data processing. List of principles set up by “NISO consensus principles on users’ digital privacy in library, publisher, and software-provider systems” are analyzed as well as American Library Association documents.
