ANALISANDO PERCEPÇÕES E EXPECTATIVAS DOS ESTUDANTES DE CURSO
It is common to hear high school students refer to school chemistry as difficult, abstract and unnecessary, among other comments. Generally, the proposed programs are so extensive that they cannot be finalized or the fundamental concepts are superficially taught. In such cases, there is a risk of misconception of concepts and their lack of relationship with those already taught and / or with the social context. It is necessary that science teaching be linked to everyday events, to develop in the student a critical view of the world in which we live. Young teenagers attending high school show great ability to engage in situations that appeal to them: favorite band, electronic games, football team, etc. However, many of them show resistance in engaging with the chemical content treated in schools. This study aimed to investigate the perceptions and expectations of students in the pre-university entrance exam at the University of Pernambuco-PREVUPE in the city of Bom Jardim-PE in relation to the discipline of chemistry. For the application of this work, we used investigative and subjective questionnaires as an instrument to obtain data, qualitative research is understood as a circular trajectory around what one wants to understand, turning the look to the quality and the elements that are significant to the researcher. Thus, this work had characteristics of qualitative research. Through analysis, we realize that students have desires that are compatible with learning in chemistry: they want to participate more, they want diverse classes, among other desires. It is indicated that we teachers assume more attitudes towards students' wishes, thus combining the necessary learning.
