NEW ARCHITECTURAL PROJECTS FOR STUDYING AND INTERPRETING MEMORY
The article investigates a new typology of architectural projects that helps reveal the memory of a place and promote the cohesion of local communities as keepers of collective memory, with particular reference to visitor centers and interpretation centers. Fives cases are reviewed to delve into the interpretation of such components of a particular place as community, historical event, architectural heritage, nature and memory itself. Approaches to memory translation in the architecture of these buildings are identified. The conclusions sum up the characteristic features of their spatial and formal organization.
