Huntington "Clash of Civilizations?", which contains statements about the appearance of signs of a new generation of confl icts associated with the increasingly growing contradictions between the collective West and the rest of the world. A number of arguments are given explaining S. Han-tington's thesis that the confrontation between Western, on the one hand, the Orthodox, Chinese and Islamic civilizations, on the other, is essentially a civilizational conflict. The conclusion is made that the conflict of civilizations is one of many other factors that to a greater or lesser extent can influence specific processes in the field of international and national security.
