Exact Stability Analysis of a Two-Phase Boost Converter
An exact stability analysis regarding bifurcation occurrence and chaos is carried out for a new two-phase boost converter operating in CCM. The proposed analysis technique uses a discrete model developed and used to provide an iterative map. The parameter adopted to change is the gain of the proportional controller, although any other parameter can be chosen as a bifurcation parameter. Based on the iterative map the eigenvalues of the Jacobian are calculated in order to predict converter stability. All this calculations are easily implemented in Matlab™. The theoretical mathematical results have been entirely confirmed by the computer simulation using the Caspoc package.
