Therefore, this paper examines the role of school managers in the management of human resources in Nigerian schools. The paper describes the concept of management, human resources, human resources management and the needs of human resources in schools. The paper posits that staff training development, staff motivation, staff supervision, records keeping and managing conflict are among the techniques of managing human resources in schools. It also considered planning, organizing, directing, supervising, and evaluation as the functions of school managers. The paper identifies the challenges of human resources management in schools as a management practice, finance, managing diversity, staffing and performance appraisal.
