The University of Otavalo developed its courses to the demands of its community and created the Educational Psychology Programme, which was the objective of this work. The study was based on descriptive-documentary and field research. Two surveys were applied to 1,831 students of the third year of the General Baccalaureate of 7 cantons to quantify the demand for the programme. To assess the employability of the programme, a survey was applied to 30 members of the administrative teaching staff of Imbabura and north of Pichincha. It was found that 51.6% of participants have an interest in studying the career; 54.9% would study at the University of Otavalo; 93.3% of employers required a graduate professional and 76.6% would require professionals with a third-level degree.
