Silalahi, Nanda Saputra","doi":"10.56854/jsshr.v1i1.50","DOIUrl":null,"url":null,"abstract":"The objective of the research is to find out the extent of direct translation at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Pematangsiantar in the translation descriptive text from English into Indonesianin academic year 2019/2020.The problem research is about what extent of direct translation method are used at grade eight students of SMP N 6 Pematangsiantar in the translation descriptive text from English into Indonesian?. To solve the problems, the research used theories Vinay and Darbelnet in Venuti (2000:84-93) divided translation procedures into two namely Direct or Literal Translation which cover three procedures (borrowing, calque, and Literal translation). The research uses qualitative descriptive method. The data was taken from grade VIII-2 SMPN 6 Pematangsiantar with the total number of students are twenty students. The researcher takes 20 students to analyze the students’ translating. Then, the researcher analyzes the data, describe and classify their translation. The research finding of the thesis showthat the students’ translation borrowing translatiom 22,2%, calque translation 19,05%, literal translation 58,73% but some students did not get transferring the meaning of text so the students did not complete to translate the text. 摘要
本研究的目的是了解SMP Negeri 6 Pematangsiantar八年级学生在2019/2020学年将英语描述文本翻译成印尼语的程度。问题研究是关于smpn6 Pematangsiantar八年级学生在将英语描述性文本翻译成印尼语时,使用直接翻译方法的程度。为了解决这一问题,本研究运用Vinay和Darbelnet在Venuti(2000:84-93)的理论,将翻译过程分为两种,即直接翻译(Direct translation)或直译(Literal translation),其中包括三个步骤(借用、calque和直译)。本研究采用定性描述方法。本研究的数据来自于SMPN 6小学八年级-二年级,学生总数为20人。研究者以20名学生为对象,对学生的翻译进行分析。然后,对资料进行分析,对其翻译进行描述和分类。本论文的研究发现,学生的翻译中有22.2%是借译,19.05%是抄译,58.73%是直译,但也有部分学生没有得到原文意义的转移,导致学生没有完成译文。研究者得出结论,一些学生在翻译中经常遇到很多困难,因为他们不理解意思,单词,句子结构的使用和文本中的困惑。
