Has the covid-19 affected university students with negative emotions and irresponsible Behavior? An Ecuadorian study
Issues related to the covid-19 impact on university students remain a matter of concern. This study aims to describe how students have been emotionally and behaviorally affected by using the European students' Union survey (2020), which was adapted and coordinated by The Covid-19 Social Science Lab of The University of Ljubljana. Participants were selected using a snowball sampling, getting 1507 total answers, where 70,27% were from ESPOL Polytechnic University and 93,56% where cursing a bachelor's degree. In addition, women's sample was slightly bigger than men's, and there was an age scope between 23 and 50. The study is focused on analyzing their Negative emotions (NE) and Responsible Behavior (RB). A 5-Likert scale format helped to know how groups and subgroups have faced this new framework through mean differences by gender and Field of study. Findings describe significant differences for negative emotions by gender and Responsible Behavior by area of study. Concluding that most college students have often felt negative emotions and increased their responsible Behavior. The current study could help policymakers supporting students with unfavorable results and eliminate the gap between groups.
