In this year Uzbekistan, which is dynamically developing not only thanks to economic reforms, the activation of foreign policy, but also in connection with the achievement of social balance, has faced a new serious challenge. The proposals to amend the Constitution, which provided for the deprivation of Karakalpakstan of its status as a sovereign republic, became a trigger for mass protest movements. The participation of external forces in the events in Nukus indicated a possible increase in the trend towards destabilization in Uzbekistan. Against this background, the republic’s relations with the Eurasian integration structures, primarily with the EAEU, are developing.
