They were interpreted as tribal cultic gathering sites, and due to their shape they were grouped together with other, similar survey sites under the name \"foot-shaped\" or \"sandal-shaped\" enclosures. Recently, some questions arose regarding the dating of the two sites. The Dating of the "Foot-Shaped" Enclosures in the Jordan Valley
