The ancient Egyptians thrived on drinking beer, wine and fresh milk beside their usual water intake. Nowadays in Egypt, locally manufactured beer and wine still exist but their consumption is limited due to religious beliefs. Beverages in ancient Egypt were normally served during celebrations, funerals or banquets which is still the case. This article attempts to explore the journey of manufacturing and consuming Egyptian beverages through history with the aim of assessing the possible sustainability. It is concluded that the outcome of the manufacturing techniques of beer, wine and milk have considerably changed.
