The study was designed according to the embedded design, one of the mixed research methods. The study group of the research consists of a total of 66 eighth grade students studying in a public school in the central district of a large province in the south of Turkey in the 2020-2021 academic year. While the criterion sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used to determine the quantitative study group of the research, the maximum variation sampling method was used to determine the qualitative study group. On the other hand, in the context of STEM education, mathematical modeling problems, evaluation rubric and semi-structured interview form were used as data collection tools in the research. As a result of the research; It was concluded that mathematical modeling activities in the context of STEM education positively improved the mathematical modeling skills of secondary school students. 摘要

本研究旨在探讨STEM教育背景下数学建模活动对中学生数学建模技能的影响。本研究采用混合研究方法之一的嵌入式设计进行设计。该研究的研究小组由2020-2021学年在土耳其南部一个大省中心区的一所公立学校学习的66名八年级学生组成。本研究采用目的抽样方法之一的标准抽样法确定定量研究组,采用最大变异抽样法确定定性研究组。另一方面,在STEM教育背景下,采用数学建模问题、评价题和半结构化访谈表作为数据收集工具。作为研究的结果;结果表明,STEM教育背景下的数学建模活动对中学生的数学建模技能有积极的促进作用。此外,在STEM教育背景下接受数学建模活动教育的学生获得了不同的跨学科视角,思维能力得到了积极的发展,更容易适应小组工作,并增加了他们对工程和技术的兴趣。
