PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF GREEN FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS IN RUSSIA

The growing interest of investors in participating in projects that contribute to the formation of a net-zero economy is gradually changing the structure of financial market instruments. Such trends are caused by growing environmental problems caused largely by traditional forms of management. Russia should also rely on the greening of ongoing projects for the effective and systematic implementation of the objectives of the sustainable development strategy. Applying a comparative approach, trend analysis, as well as using data from the world bank and the statista database, the paper examines the general trends in the issuance of the most popular green financial instruments — bonds, identifies the factors that determine the greatest popularity of these financial instruments, identifies the world leaders of their issuance, and suggests directions for more effective promotion of green financing in Russia.
