This article shows the current status of this connector technology being used for high-voltage cables with smooth welded aluminium sheath (SWAS) for the use in offshore windfarms. These include contact resistance, ampacity and installation. In addition, testing of the connection technology on SWAS cables was carried out and the results are compared with simulation results.
