Anti oxidant activity of S. cuminiL .leaves is known in literature. In the present study we have examined effect of season on in vitroanti oxidant activity of S. cuminiL .leaves. Leaves of S. cuminiL .were collected in different seasons and in vitroanti oxidant activity of the leaves was measured by superoxide anion generation with the help of linoleic acid peroxidation assay, xanthine-xanthine oxidase assay and by DPPH photometric assay. Anti oxidant compounds like total phenol, ascorbic acid, flavonoids and carotenoid present in the leaves of different seasons were also estimated. Results showed that in vitroanti oxidant activity of S. cuminiL .leaves was maximum during summer (March-May). Anti oxidant activity was related with high content of total phenol, ascorbic acid, flavonoid and carotenoids in the leaves.
