It was conducted with the used of quantitative method of data collection. The study identified the challenges bedeviling the digitalization of institutional libraries and investigated the current nature of institutional libraries in four selected Federal Polytechnics in North-East Nigeria. The study found that, inadequate fund, lack of political will and expertise are some of the challenges bedeviling the digitalization of institutional libraries in North-East Nigeria. It also found that the current nature of institutional libraries in the region is traditional.
