A general framework for multirate joint precoder-equalizer
We propose a new framework for joint precoder-equalizer based on a multirate filterbank. Our framework generalizes all the existing multirate joint precoder-equalizer structures in the literature and hence permits more degrees of freedom in the design to incorporate useful features. Based on multirate system theory, we convert the proposed framework into an equivalent but simpler frequency-domain representation that permits flexible designs. We propose the novel concept of channel-independent precoders and address their advantages over the existing precoders, which all require the knowledge of channel impulse responses.
