With the development of marine power system, conventional PID excitation controller can not meet the dynamic performance requirements of the running system. In order to overcome the shortcomings of the conventional PID controller, a PID controller of the marine generator excitation system based on BP neural network is proposed in this paper. Simulation results show that the marine generator excitation system of PID control based on BP neural network has excellent characteristics which are fast response, high steady-state accuracy and strong robustness.
