Zastosowanie materiału Cention Forte u pacjenta w wieku rozwojowym
Modern composite materials have become the standard in restorative dentistry. However, they are not perfect, especially when working with a young patient, where ease and speed of procedure is important. Glass-ionomer materials, despite many desirable properties such as remineralization potential and ease of use, have limited evidence of long-term clinical efficacy. New materials are being developed that combine some of the features of composite and glass ionomer materials. One of them is Cention Forte (Ivoclar Vivadent), which belongs to the alkasite group. A 16-year-old patient, generally healthy, was admitted to the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, UCS WUM. It was decided to start conservative treatment with a cavity in tooth 47 – I class according to Black, code 4 according to ICDAS II. The cavity was completely prepared and filled with Cention Forte. The “occlusal stamp” technique was used to restore the occlusal surface properly. The use of a new generation alkaside material in this clinical case was associated with a simple procedure. Material properties described in laboratory studies may be beneficial to the patient. However, adequate randomized clinical trials are needed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of the material.
