Towards Software Architectural Description for Systems of Systems: Case of a Maritime Transport SoS

This paper proposes appropriate software architecture for modeling and describing Systems Of Systems (SoS), systems where the components that constitute them are themselves very complex systems. On one hand, we develop reference architecture (RA-SoS) with the aim of using it as a guide to deduce software architectures of SoS. On the other hand, we use this reference architecture to define an Architecture Description Language (ArchSoS) that describes SoS while highlighting the aspects of interoperability and emergent behaviour.
