Optimal allocation of FACTS controller for Reactive Power Planning
The nature-inspired optimization technique named moth flame optimization is projected in this paper for solving optimal power flow to minimize active power loss. The FACTS controllers are used with the aforesaid approach for real power loss minimization and voltage improvement under different loading conditions. This methodology is executed on standard IEEE 30 bus systems and IEEE 57 bus systems. Also, the outcome is compared with the other two techniques names Krill herd algorithm (KHA) and Biogeography based optimization (BBO). These algorithms are a set of innovative problem-solving trials and approaches derived from natural processes. Simulation results of these three methods are compared, and the best one is identified. The comparison reveals the superiority of the proposed approach among these three methods and confirms its potential to solve the objective of OPF problems.
