Calibration of a Brightness Matching Experiment setup in Mesopic and Scotopic Conditions
The system under calibration has been previously characterized in photopic conditions. Due to increased interests in mesopic conditions, it was adapted to be usable in such an environment. Preliminary tests raised concerns about the stability of the generated stimulus. This paper retraces the steps which were consequently applied to fully capture, analyze and comprehend the source of observed stimulus instabilities. Through statistical analysis of the numerical results, some hypotheses were dismissed. The purpose of this paper is to expose a rigorous methodology in order to establish a well-controlled experimental environment.
