STATUS IMUNITAS AYAM RAS PETELUR YANG DIBERI KITOSAN IRADIASI
This research was conducted to determine the effect of giving chitosan irradiation on the immunity status of laying hens. The study was conducted in December 2019 to January 2020 at the laying chicken farm in Sukarapih Village, Sukasari District, Sumedang Regency, West Java. Blood sample testing was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Physiology and Biochemistry of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor District, Sumedang Regency, West Java. The study used an experimental method with orthogonal polynomial test. There were 50 layers layer layer chicken as research objects with 5 types of treatment, namely P0 = without giving chitosan, P1 = given chitosan 150 ppm, P2 = given chitosan 200 ppm, P3 = given chitosan 250 ppm and P4 = given chitosan 300 ppm. The parameters observed in this study were white blood cells / leukocytes (lymphocytes and neutrophils) and blood proteins (total protein, albumin and globulin) laying hens. The results showed that the administration of chitosan irradiation had a significant effect (P <0.05) on the number of leukocyte, lymphocyte and neutrophil cells. Likewise with the effect of chitosan irradiation on blood protein levels (total protein, albumin and globulin), which were generally significantly different (P <0.05). But there is an inconsistency of the influence of chitosan on each parameter of blood protein, both total protein, albumin and globulin.
