Objective: To provide a reference for improving psychiatric nursing staff’s literature utilization and professional knowledge mastery by investigating and studying the current situation of psychiatric nursing staff’s literature utilization. Methods: According to the method of convenient sampling, 156 nurses in the psychiatric department of 5 secondary (including) and above hospitals in Nanning were investigated by a self-designed “questionnaire on the utilization of literature resources for psychiatric nurses”, and the demand for literature resources of nursing staff at all levels was further analyzed. For comparison, 146 psychiatrists were also surveyed. Conclu-sion: The demand for literature resources used by senior nurses in the psychiatric department is significantly higher than that of junior nurses with 1~5 years of experience. The nursing staff’s cognition of literature resources is obviously lower than that of doctors. Nurses in the department of psychiatry obtain literature resources mainly through paper books and periodicals, and the main purpose of using literature resources is to write papers and accumulate knowledge.
