An undergraduate electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) course for the electrical engineering profession was established at the Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute (now the Leningrad State University of Ocean Technology) in 1987. The course includes 51 hours of lectures and 34 hours of laboratory experiments. The students are required to perform ten labs on original equipment. Individuality, coupling of labs, comparison of experiments and calculations, and hand construction are basic principles to increase the efficiency of training. The students are required to prove their conclusions based on experiments calculations, and personal computer simulation.<>
