Since data rate is continuously increasing, we need to utilize the storage space efficiently in terms of efficiency, computing speed, response time etc. Storage management in cloud environment aims to enhance performance of the data center by efficiently optimizing the underlying storage resources. To optimize the data storage, till now many techniques are proposed. In this paper some of these techniques are compared. The analysis is done on the basis of the parameters like speed, I/O request, efficiency etc. used by the respective researchers.
