Russia-ASEAN Cooperation in the Context of the Greater Eurasian Partnership Creation

The concept of creating the Greater Eurasian Partnership put forward by the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin in 2015 and developed in a number of his subsequent speeches is the most ambitious Russian foreign policy doctrine for the recent years. At the same time the principles of institutionalization and practical content of this project are still at the stage of discussion. This article analyzes the prospects for the formation of this community including the possibilities of synergy with existing integration structures as well as the development of relations in the EAEU-SCO-ASEAN format. Strengthening cooperation in this in this particular trilateral form is assessed as the most likely basis for the formation of the Greater Eurasian Partnership.
