Special attention is paid to the interrelations of the old intelligentsia and the Soviet regime that finally occupied Ukraine.\nMethodology. The author uses as a methodological basis of this study, the principles and methods of the culturological approach to the analysis of numerous publications concerning the transformation of the positions of the old intelligentsia in relation to their attitude to various authorities during the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917–1921.\nResults. The author examines the processes of evolution of the mood and attitude of the old intelligentsia to various authorities, which had a goal to rob Ukraine. The paper shows a negative attitude of the nationally-minded intelligentsia to such authorities. However, the most part of the old intelligentsia compromised with any authorities in its struggle against the Bolshevik regime.\nNovelty. The author has studied a lot of archive information and periodical editions using culturological and comparative methodological approaches to analyse the views of the old intelligentsia, especially the émigré intelligentsia, concerning their attitude to various authorities, in particular, the Soviet government, during the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917–1921.\nThe practical significance.
