The paper presents an intelligent tutoring system for accounting (ITSA). ITSA generates automatically theory test questions and problem solving exercises from a domain model for financial accounting. ITSA uses the constraint learning theory to check the student answer and to provide feedback. The paper argues that this approach reduces the effort required to generate teaching material, and can be used for both testing the students understanding of the accounting theory as well as their problem solving skills.
