The aim is to reduce the value of the load resistance as reflected to the power supply, in order to increase the power intake from a given voltage source. Theoretical analysis shows that with the capacitive output filter, the output power can be up to four times the one achieved with the conventional full-wave rectification incorporating the same output filter. Simulations are carried out for a variety of resistive loads and frequencies of operation.
