Design of multiband microstrip patch antenna for IOT applications
In this paper a Microstrip line fed truncated icosidodecahedron modeled antenna is introduced. The antenna works over the frequency bands of 1.47GHz–1.61GHz, 2.59GHz–2.94GHz, 3.57GHz–3.69GHz, 3.94GHz–4.08GHz, 4.49GHz–4.73GHz, 5.2GHz–5.4GHz, 6.35GHz–6.6GHz at UHF, microwave and SHF frequency bands. The S11 = −10 dB impedance bandwidth is 140MHz (1.47GHz–1.61GHz), 350MHz (2.59GHz–2.94GHz), 120MHz (3.57GHz–3.69GHz), 140MHz (3.94GHz–4.08GHz), 240MHz (4.49GHz–4.73GHz), 200MHz (5.2GHz–5.4GHz) and 250MHz (6.35GHz–6.6GHz) in different bands. The material FR4 of dielectric constant 4.4 and loss tangent 0.02 is selected as the substrate of the antenna. The antenna could operate in the frequency range of WiFi as well as WLAN enables IOT applications. In addition the applications like GPS, Radio location, fixed mobile communication is also possible.
