A Fuzzy Deduction Graph Model for Computing with Words
This paper presents a model of computing with words using fuzzy deduction graph (FDG). The issue of how to represent and reason about rules containing words that is fuzzy in its nature is addressed in the FDG model. The premises are assumed to be expressed as propositions in a natural language. We refer to fuzzy rules as the rules with certainty factors. Then, the rules of inference in fuzzy logic are employed to propagate the constraints from premises to conclusions. Motivated by Cao and Chen [5] model of computing with words on fuzzy Petri nets, we have developed the model on FDG. This concept is then applied to reasoning with linguistic quantifiers.
