This paper first illustrate general features of MAM system, which include management tasks and decisions surrounding the ingestion, annotation, cataloguing, storage, retrieval and distribution of media assets. Then we put forward a logical function framework of MAM system. Finally, we discuss some novel solutions aimed at existing problems of MAM based on the framework.
