DISPUTAS FRONTERIZAS EN LA PROVINCIA DEL PARAGUAY: “NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LOS PLACERES DE YGATIMÍ” 1767-1777

: The aim of this article is to describe the foundation and the capitulation of the Portuguese fortress named “Nuestra Señora de los Placeres”, established between 1767 and 1777 on the north bank of the Ygatimí River; and its interaction with the Spaniards of the Province of Paraguay, be it with the residents of the town of Curuguaty or the central authorities. Through the use of political-administrative documentation yet to be addressed, housed in the National Archives of Asunción, this research seeks to contribute to the knowledge of border relations and disputes between the Province of Paraguay and the Captaincy of San Pablo during the second half of the 18th century.
