The main challenge of D2D communication is interference management. In this paper, we investigate the power allocation problem of D2D communication for mitigating the interference. We propose a power allocation scheme for mitigating the interference along with enhancing the overall cell capacity. This scheme is based on the BAT optimization (BA) algorithm. The main aim of the proposed scheme is to allocate the optimal transmit power to the Cellular users (CUs) and D2D users to minimize the interference along with maximizing the channel capacity as well. We have compared our proposed scheme with random based and particle swarm optimization (PSO) based power allocation schemes.
