Time domain analysis of distribution system harmonics. II. Interaction between harmonic sources and power system component
For pt.I see ibid., p.1241-6 (1992). The interaction between harmonic sources, other loads and the power system is investigated, using a power electronic simulator which performs an accurate time-domain analysis as described and verified in part I. An investigation is made of various load compositions involving power converter, three-phase induction motor, and constant impedance loads. The power system conditions studied include strong, weak, and parallel resonance. These results are compared with those from a simple Thevenin model of the power system to establish the limit of the model's validity. An expression showing how the harmonic current injected into the power system is affected by load comparison is derived.<>
