Nabil, Aboushady","doi":"10.21608/ejnhs.2022.227797","DOIUrl":null,"url":null,"abstract":"Introduction: The access to family planning (FP), quality of care, and exploring obstacles to utilization of services are key factors in the adoption and continuation of contraception utilization in Egypt, COVID_19 strict lockdown measures, suspension of public transportation has affected access to healthcare in the public and private sectors, and limited access to the services. The aim was to assess the obstacles of contraceptive utilization methods among women during COVID-19 outbreaks. Design: Descriptive exploratory research design was utilizing to achieve the aim of this current study. Settings: The study was carried out in the maternal child health center and obstetrics &gynecology outpatient clinic at Beni-Suef University hospital, Egypt. Sample: A purposive sample of 250 women. Tools: three tools were used; interviewing questionnaire, barriers of utilization of contraception during (COVID-19) outbreak tool, and complication of using family planning methods questionnaire. Results: The present study explored the various types of reported barriers for women during COVID-19 as; family, medical and transportation barriers were the main barriers that lead to not using/discontinuation of FP. In addition, there was a significant difference between family, medical, and transportation related barrier and pimi and multiparty. Conclusion: There are many obstacles of utilization of contraceptive methods as insufficient staff and employee in MCH center, no medication and family planning methods, which mention as the main barriers for utilization.
