Capabilities of transthoracic extrapleural access are comparable to thoracotomy. The first experience of transthoracic extrapleural access showed its effectiveness in resection of giant neuromas of thoracic spine. Indisputable advantage of this access is less surgical injury compared to thoracotomy.
