Preparative molar ratios of 4:1 and 2:1 ligand to Cu(II) salt yielded the following unique solids: Cu(IPA)<sub>2</sub>X<sub>2</sub>(X=ClO<sub>4</sub><sup>−</sup>, BF<sub>4</sub><sup>−</sup> and NO<sub>3</sub><sup>−</sup>) and Cu(IPA)X<sub>2</sub>(X=Cl, Br). Characterization has been accomplished primarily by IR, electronic and ESR measurements of the solid state. IPA bonds as a bidentate ligand via its N-oxide oxygen and amine nitrogen in all of the complexes. Abstract
