Abstract

Objectives

Considering that recent literature re-evaluated the technique of placing implants in an inclined position, this paper suggests a different method for lifting the lower wall of the maxillary sinus. The new technique represents a logical development of clinical experience consolidated in decades.

Materials and methods

The protocol involves the execution of a bone tunnel by making a longitudinal fracture using dedicated chisels.

Results and conclusions

Clinically, we can observe that the method allows to obtain good stability of the prosthetic restoration, an easy surgical approach, and very short recovery time.
