Pemerintah berusaha mengatasi permasalahan ini dalam setiap bidang, salah satunya di bidang pendidikan yakni dengan menerapkan pendidikan karakter peduli lingkungan di sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan model experiential learning dalam mengembangkan karakter peduli lingkungan dan mengetahui seberapa besar perubahan karakter peduli lingkungan peserta didik setelah mendapat pembelajaran dengan model experiential learning . Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian quasi experimental dengan desain one group pretest-posttest . Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji peningkatan perkembangan karakter dan uji peningkatan pemahaman konsep. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan karakter peduli lingkungan setelah melalui pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model experiential learning dapat mengembangkan karakter peduli lingkungan peserta didik. Educational expert said that human behavior causing environmental disasters. The government attempted to resolve these problems in education sector such as implementing character education in school. This study aims to explain the implementation of experiential learning model and determining the increase of students’ understanding concept and character about care for environment, after going through experiential learning model. This study used quasi-experimental method with one group pretest-posttest. The improvement analysis was using N-gain. The result of this research were the implementation of experiential learning can improve the understanding of students toward the concept and lead to changes in character.
