Abstract

Minimally invasive surgery for calcaneal fractures. Sinus tarsi approach Most calcaneal fractures (75%) present a joint component with a high prevalence in young people and high-energy trauma. Classically, the extended L-shaped approach has been used for its surgical management with good functional results but high rates of associated soft tissue complications. The objective of the article is to establish the indications and describe the sinus tarsi approach as an minimally invasive surgery technique for the treatment of articular calcaneal fractures in order to minimize these complications obtaining similar clinical results.
