Pain and Ethics of Pain Control in Acute Trauma Patients

Abstract

Physicians want to help patients who are victims of acute trauma. We would like to be able to relieve their pain. With the current attention that narcotics are receiving, physicians are shying away from prescribing these medications. This manuscript argues for the aggressive control of pain in the acute trauma setting.
