Abstract

Pakistan has variety of topographic features including planes, sub-mountainous andmountainous ranges. These mountainous and sub-mountainous ranges possess a vast potential forconcrete aggregates. However, alkali silica reactivity has largely been observed in the past, due toreactive nature of these aggregates. This study was planned to explore the possible causes of alkalisilica reaction (ASR) and their consequences in the environment of Pakistan. Several materials can beused economically to mitigate alkali silica expansion.
