Some Thoughts on the Standardization Study of Moxibustion

Abstract

This article stated the moxibustion application and the standards of moxibustion manipulating techniques, moxibustion quantity, moxibustion position, moxibustion materials, moxa smoke, and moxibustion courses in ancient medical documents; fully analyzed their influence on clinical effects and explained the importance and necessity of moxibustion standardization study. It also reviewed the formulation and revision of standards in China, and then gave some ideas on the moxibustion standardization system construction, steps of moxibustion standardization construction, international moxibustion standards construction, acupuncture standardization talents training in order that the medical personnel and researchers can focus on the moxibustion standardization in clinic and research and can give basis for moxibustion objectification and standardization in clinic and experiment, facilitate moxibustion to develop in objectification, standardization, and scientization.
