Cadenzas in the horn concertos by Oleg Negruta: interpretative aspects

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to highlight the most important characteristic aspects of the cadenzas of the horn Concertos and orchestra signed by Oleg Negruta. The composer uses an original language in his cadenzas, emphasizes the timbral qualities and technical possibilities of the instrument. In this context, several innovative aspects stand out: the doina character, the improvisational style, the influence of traditional folk and jazz music. This study aims to emphasize the most distinctive elements used within the analyzed cadenzas, viewed from an interpretive aspect, and to define some recommendations in this regard.
