The results of the research are presented and the state of the problem in pedagogical theory and practice is revealed based on the experience of professional pedagogical colleges – experimental institutions of the all-Ukrainian level of education in Odesa. \nModern approaches to the organization of the formation of the professional competence of the teacher of New Ukrainian School in the system of postgraduate pedagogical education of Ukraine are highlighted. The main attention is paid to the issues of innovative development of the formation of the professional competence of the primary school teacher and the professional growth of the competences of the young teacher in general secondary education institutions, which are accompanied by changes in the consciousness of the teacher, the search of new tasks and strategies, the goal of their achievement; circumstances that require selection and making non-standard decisions. The psychological foundations of the professional competence of the teacher's personality are considered, which are combined into three interrelated blocks: methodological, substantive (social-psychological), instrumental. Abstract
The article describes various scientific approaches to the problem of the professional competence of the teacher, analyzes studies that reveal the content of the professional competence of the teacher in a modern educational institution, in particular, a primary school teacher.
